It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Michael Manna, who left this world on March 2, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on May 27, 1947, in Brooklyn, New York.
Robert devoted his career to education as a Technology Specialist, making significant contributions to advancing technology in educational settings. His technical skills contributed to his role serving his Country at March Airforce Base in Riverside, California. As a Veteran and patriot, he was an active and devoted member of the American Legion Newport Harbor Post 291 where he participated in many holiday celebrations with his wife Gayle and served as part of both the Honor Guard and Color Guard. One of the highlights of his life was participating in an Honor Flight mission, a journey that allowed him to honor the nation’s WW2 heroes and reconnect with the spirit of camaraderie that defined his years of service. Above all, Robert’s deep sense of commitment extended to his wife Gayle, family and friends, whose love and companionship remained the foundation of his life.
Robert’s love of motorcycles was inspired by his love of the ride which led him to many exciting road adventures. As a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders, he joined fellow veterans and riders in honoring fallen heroes and supporting their families, taking great pride in offering respect and remembrance from the seat of his motorcycle. Riding brought him not only freedom and joy, but also connection to his fellow veterans, his country, and the open road he loved.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife Gayle, her children, Shannon, Justine, and Sasha; grandchildren, Kiarah, Blake, Jamie, Jeremy, Marcus, and Liliana, who stand as a testament to the love and partnership they shared throughout their lives together. Robert is also survived by his brothers Richard Manna and Raymond Manna, his sister-in-law Marlene, and his niece Julia.
The family also wishes to acknowledge the many friends, colleagues, and loved ones who were part of Robert’s life and who continue to cherish his memory.
A memorial service honoring Robert's life will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 12:45 PM at the Riverside National Cemetery, where he will receive a dignified farewell. As we gather to celebrate the life of Robert Michael Manna, we invite all those who knew him to join us in remembering his kindness, intellect, and the many lives he positively impacted. His legacy will endure in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
