Melba Cornelia Major

“Melba Cornelia (Bunch) Major was born on May 8, 1925, in Lone Mountain, Tennessee and died Thursday, Sept 28, 2017 @ 9:20 am from old age, at home in Ontario, Calif where she lived with her daughter Carol for the past 8 yrs. She went peacefully in her sleep. Her daughters Mary, Carol and son Bill were there for her last days. She was 92 yrs old. Her parents, Hugh Bedford Bunch and Mattie Epperson Bunch died when she was only 9 yrs old. She and her sister Amanda went into a School for girls, until their eldest sister Effie could take care of them. She met William Seneca Major in Tucson, Az and they were married on Feb 22, 1949. they were married for 60 yrs when Bill died on May 29, 2009. She was the last of her siblings to pass. Amanda died in March, 2017, they were very close. She had 5 brothers, Pleas, Edgar, Clarence, Jim, Henry, and 2 sisters Effie and Amanda. she has 4 children Judy & George McBain, of Delaware, Mary & Rick Llewellyn, of Apple Valley, Cal, William, of Sacramento, Cal, and Carol of Ontario, Cal. She has 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. The memorial service will be held on Oct 12, 2017 at the Mountain Avenue Assembly of God, 1951 S. Mountain Ave, Ontario, Ca 91762. Viewing will be at 10am, service 11AM and interment 2pm at Riverside National Cemetery Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, CA 92518. where she will be laid to rest along side her sweetheart. “, “”
