In Loving Memory of Mario Martinez Jr.
Born November 17, 1983 – Entered the Lord’s Presence October 4, 2025
With heavy hearts and unwavering faith, we celebrate the life of Mario Martinez, Jr., a devoted husband, loving son, brother, uncle, friend, and most importantly a faithful servant of the Lord. Born in Anaheim, California, Mario lived a life filled with love, laughter, and purpose.
Mario’s faith was unshakable. Even in the face of life’s hardest battles, he continued to speak life and believe in God’s promises. When doctors gave him limited time, Mario declared with confidence, “The Lord will heal me.” Until his very last breath, he shared the love of Jesus and the hope of the gospel with everyone around him. His faith never wavered, and his big faith was a testimony about God’s love for us all.
Mario had many passions. He played sports growing up, including baseball and football, and was also a member of his high school marching band, where he played the trombone. In his young adult years, Mario played in a heavy metal band as the bass player. He then attended the Los Angeles Film School, where he earned his Associates of Science in Recording Arts, with honors. He was a devoted fan of the Angels and Notre Dame. He loved all kinds of music, sound engineering, post-production, movies, learning about history, searching for fossils, traveling, road trips, playing board games, exploring nerd culture, and discovering new food spots. His sense of humor, gentle spirit, and joyful presence made every room brighter.
Most importantly, what he loved most was loving God and people, serving the Lord with all his heart. He loved studying and learning from the Bible, and he and his wife both attended Bethel Christian College and then Assemblies of God School of Ministry. For many years, Mario ran the sound at his former church, a role he truly loved and respected. He also led a young adult group for many years and later transitioned into leading a youth ministry alongside his wife, a ministry he deeply loved.
To know Mario was to be loved by him. He forgave easily, saw the best in others, and prayed for everyone he met. His kindness and positivity lifted those around him and reminded us what the love of God truly looks like.
Mario shared eight beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Magdalena Martinez. Together, they built a bond rooted in faith and strengthened by God’s promises. They were also given the opportunity by God to serve in the ministry of the Lord. A love that grew stronger through every storm and remained unbreakable until the end.
He is survived by his loving wife, Magdalena Martinez; his mother, Elva Martinez; and his sisters, Maricelda Gomez and family, and Andrea Frausto and family. He was preceded in death by his father, Mario Martinez Sr.
Family and friends are invited to come together to share in the celebration of Mario's remarkable journey, reflecting on the joy he brought into our lives and honoring the memories that will forever hold a place in our hearts. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 am at This Rock International Ministries at 1760 Chicago Avenue, Riverside, California 92507. Following the service, We'll continue celebrating his life at the reception at the Ayers Hotel & Spa Moreno Valley, 12631 Memorial Way, Moreno Valley, California.
Mario will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know him. Though our hearts ache, we rejoice knowing that Mario is now in the presence of the Lord he loved so deeply. His faith, laughter, and love will live on in every life he touched.
