John Leonard Van Horn, age 74, passed away on April 22, 2024, in Menifee, California after a short illness. He was the eldest of five, born on September 17,1949 in Baxter Springs, Kansas to Leonard and Alpha Van Horn.
John was a graduate of Fontana High School, class of 1968 and went on to earn his degree in accounting from California State University, Los Angeles. He pursued a long and successful career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
John is best remembered for his hobbies such as love to travel, and as an accomplished amateur photographer. His passion was serving as a talented volunteer coach in the organization called Landmark Education.
He is survived by three siblings Marie Van Horn of Fargo, North Dakota, Kathy McCracken of Rialto, California and Larry Van Horn of Falls Church, Virginia.
Stepchildren: Greg Beck, Jackie Beck, Heidi Beck, Nephews: Chris Romine, Rodney, and David Van Horn, nieces: Erin Romine, Diana Rios, Jennier Darlas and Sarah Eason.
John is preceded in death by his parents Leonard Van Horn, Alpha Van Horn, brother Lloyd Van Horn.
John’s presence will be profoundly missed. His memory will continue for all who have known him.
