Corona CA

John Francis Campbell, 90 years, of Corona, CA, passed away on January 6, 2025.

John was born on January 18, 1934 in Long Beach, California. He attended and graduated from Compton High School, Class of 1951. He served proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1953 through 1957, and received an honorable discharge with the rank of Staff Sergeant/Instructor before attending California State University, Long Beach, where he earned both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Business Administration. He worked as a budget administrator and accountant for over 40 years, including 12 years at North American Rockwell in various business roles at the time of the Apollo Program. In his own words, he “had outstanding skills with numbers, excellent communication skills, and was a good problem solver”, all of which he did “with imagination, patience and a sense of humor.”

John will be remembered for being a good father who took great pride in his children’s passions, for being a loving husband to his wife, and for being a proud grandfather and a doting great grandfather. He loved his Campbell heritage and Texas family roots. He enjoyed travel and the outdoors, especially in his younger years. He was a devout Catholic with a great and inquisitive love for Scripture, which he used as a lector in mass. He practiced his faith steadily and devoted his life to teaching catechism and serving the Eucharistic ministry.

John is survived by his wife of 62 years Elizabeth Campbell (Jessome) and their seven children, twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

A private family service will be held at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Orange, California on February 7, 2025.
