Jane Theresa Hilliard
December 6, 1931 — April 28, 2023
Jane Hilliard, age 91, of Corona, passed away on April 28, 2023 while at home with family.
She was born Therese Jane Santeramo on December 6, 1931 in Jersey City, New Jersey to Michael Santeramo and Laura Elizabeth Hilliard.
Jane attended St. Josephs Catholic School and graduated from Academy of St. Aloysius, Class of 1950.
She married Roger Edward Winthrop in 1952, with whom she had two daughters, Ellen Jane (1955) and Elizabeth Jane (1957).
Jane attended Seton Hall University and graduated from St. Peters College with a degree in education (1969).
She taught in Jersey City at St. Patricks Catholic School beginning in 1963 and went on to teach at Our Lady of Mercy until June 1969.
Jane married Robert James Hilliard and they moved to California in the early 1970s.
She received her Masters Degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University in 1977.
She taught at St. Ambrose Catholic School in Los Angeles, then St. Charles Borremeo in North Hollywood. She retired in 2006 after over forty years of service to Catholic Schools.
Jane loved theatre and going to tea. She enjoyed going down the shore and up to the lake. She enjoyed traveling, but most of all she enjoyed her family!
She was predeceased by her parents Michael and Laura Santeramo, husband Roger Winthrop, husband Robert Hilliard, and daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Winthrop.
Jane is survived by her sister Kathaleen Santeramo Cluff, daughter Ellen Winthop Delhauer, son-in-law Paul Delhauer, grandchildren Micah Delhauer, Laura Delhauer, and James Delhauer, nieces Elizabeth Casciano and Kathaleen Cluff, and nephew George Cluff.
