Herlinda Gutierrez

Herlinda (Linda) Gutierrez was born on January 31st, 1949 to Joe and Alice Gonzales. She

peacefully took her last breaths on the evening of Easter, March 31st, 2024 surrounded by her

husband, all four of her children and sister in law. Linda grew up in Santa Ana, California where

she met her husband Jose Gutierrez. They moved to Corona, California where she raised her

family and lived until her death.

In her early years while living in Santa Ana, Linda attended Beauty College and did

hairdressing, winning awards for her hairstyles. In 1987 Linda began her career with the

Corona-Norco Unified School District as an instructional/bilingual aid. She worked at many

schools including El Cerrito, Parkridge and Coronita Elementary schools. In 2002 she became

the secretary at Garretson Elementary and retired in 2013 after 26 years of service.

Linda loved sewing and crafting but most of all loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed

taking care of her grandchildren and loved taking them to Disneyland and to the movies. She

was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and in her last days continued to attend mass

online.

Herlinda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jose (Joe) Gutierrez, her children Aldo A.

Gutierrez, Sergio A. Gutierrez, Sara (Peter) Vega, Sylvia (Art) Ramirez, 4 grandchildren Aaron,

Cristian, Elisa and Alex, and brothers Joe Gonzales and Mike Gonzales.
