IN LOVING MEMORY
Gloria Evon Alexander
October 13, 1934 – October 17, 2026
"Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21
With profound sadness and heartfelt love, we announce the passing of Gloria Evon Alexander, who peacefully departed this life on October 17, 2026, in Corona, California, just four days after celebrating her 92nd birthday.
Born in Trinidad and Tobago to her beloved mother, Ena Ahye, Gloria lived a remarkable life filled with faith, compassion, generosity, and service to others.
A dedicated registered nurse for 46 years, Gloria cared for patients in England, Germany, Ireland, and the United States. Her outstanding contributions earned her professional recognition, and she proudly shared her knowledge by educating future healthcare professionals at the University of Southern California.
A devoted Catholic, Gloria faithfully served her church communities, including St. Patrick’s and St. Catherine Labouré Catholic Churches in San Diego. She enjoyed gardening, growing fruits and vegetables reminiscent of her Caribbean homeland, and welcoming family and friends into her home with warmth, kindness, and love.
Family was Gloria’s greatest blessing. She leaves behind her three beloved children, Ronald Ahye, Cathy Ahye, and Ahmed J. Alexander, and her daughter-in-law, Julia Ahye.
Her legacy continues through her seven grandchildren: Nick Ahye, Andrew Ahye, Daniel Ahye, Whitney L. Darensbourg Jr., Latrease Louis, Ahmed J. Alexander Jr., and Alicia N. Alexander; and four great-grandchildren.
Gloria will forever be remembered for her unwavering faith, loving heart, strength, and selfless devotion to others. Although her earthly journey has ended, the love she shared, the lives she touched, and the beautiful memories she created will remain with us forever.
Rest peacefully in God's loving arms, Gloria. Your life was a blessing, your love was a gift, and your memory will forever live in our hearts.
