Daryl Howard Lord

Daryl Howard Lord, a loving and wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend went home to be with Jesus on August 26, 2023, in Irvine, California. Daryl was born in Lynwood California on December 21st, 1951, and he lived California until a brief move to Nevada during the last five years of his life. Daryl lost his life to lung cancer. At the time of his transition, he was at home, surrounded by family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his mother, Barbara and adoptive father, Raymond Lord. Also, his sister Sharon Lord and his brothers Chuck Lord and Ken Lord.

Daryl is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kim Lord and children, Michael Lord, Michelle Lord, Sandra Redmann, Ben Kulak, Allyson McGee and Melissa Chittenden.

Daryl was an Insurance Broker for 45 years, serving many of the same clients for decades. He loved working with and helping people save money on their insurance needs. He also loved helping anyone in need throughout his lifetime. His kindness and generosity will be remembered by so many.

A monumental highlight of Daryl’s life was when he learned to fly a plane. After earning his private pilots license, he went on to earn his instrument and commercial ratings. Eventually becoming a partner in the ownership of a Cessna 210, Daryl was able to enjoy flying family and friends to many special locations.

Daryl also loved to play golf and spent many hours golfing with friends all over Southern California and parts of Nevada. He never cared about winning. It was all about enjoying the beautiful scenery and the occasional birdie.

Daryl was also extremely skilled at designing and building houses. He added a second story to our house in Fullerton and he built a mansion from the ground up in Big Bear California.

Daryl was also passionate about helping our wounded service men and women. His favorite charity was Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

A Celebration of Daryl’s life was held at Mariners Church in Irvine California on October 20th, 2023. Daryl will forever be deeply missed by his family and friends.
