Anne J. Morettini obituary.
Anne Josephine Bruno Morettini, age 82, was called home in true “Amma fashion” just in time to give her “honey” a
kiss at midnight on December 31, 2023. She made sure we wouldn’t be able to forget 123123. She was born on July
23, 1941, the daughter of Nicholas P. Bruno and Loretta Bruno. She spent her early years in Erie, Pennsylvania where
she graduated from St. Benedict’s Academy.
She met the love of her life, Gabriel Morettini in Erie where she married him after his term in the Army on April 29,
1961. Anne gave birth to her first son Gabriel Anthony Morettini in 1962. Soon after, they moved to California where
her second son Mark Anthony Morettini was born in 1963. They purchased their first home in Corona, CA in 1964
where their family was complete with the arrival of their third son Joseph Anthony Morettini in 1965.
Anne was a devoted mother spending 1962-1975 focused on caring for her family. As her children were getting
older, she felt the calling of higher education and soon graduated from the Riverside Community College nursing
program in 1977 and began her nursing career at Riverside General Hospital. 1978 would bring a new move to
their home in Norco, CA where they would live the rest of their lives. Anne completed her career as an RN at
Riverside County Hospital in Moreno Valley, CA where she retired in 2005.
Family was everything to this strong, determined and feisty Italian mama. She lived to spoil everyone in her family
from children, to grandchildren, to great grandchildren. All she cared was that we were doing our best. She spent
countless hours making sure everyone had blankets she would tirelessly crochet with the attention to detail of a
expert marksman. She would go toe to toe with anyone willing (or not sometimes) to debate any subject. She was
our challenger and our fierce advocate who pushed us all (at her own expense sometimes) to our highest potential.
She always had an open lap, even to the adults. We could sit there, get a back scratch and no matter what the
circumstances, you just knew everything was going to be alright. We all miss her horribly.
Anne was preceded in death by her brothers Nicholas J. Bruno and Anthony Bruno and her sister Joanne Burke.
She is survived by her children Gabriel, Mark and Joseph Morettini and their wives Barbara, Kimberly and
Deborah and 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
